Stereo gear repairs are available in the shop. Static is a bit (well, actually more than a bit) of an expert with electronics and controls. The focus is on audio/video gear, but limited repairs are available on computers such as hardware upgrades and screen replacements. We can repair most cassette decks, receivers, CD players etc. Turntables (record players if you prefer) are the specialty of the house. If it is playing too fast, too slow, not playing at all, playing but giving off unpleasant noises, or if you just need a new cartridge and stylus mounted be sure to give us a call. Be advised, not all parts for all machines are readily available. Sometimes they are just too old and obsolete to obtain the needed repair parts.
The general routine is that when you drop off a device, there will be a deposit due which is equal to 1 hour of labor for the diagnostics process. If the repair is easy and relatively inexpensive, it will likely just be completed while your deck is disassembled on the work bench. If it becomes apparent that you need an obsolete, otherwise unavailable, or excessively pricey part, you will be contacted for approval before proceeding. Note, initial deposits are NOT REFUNDABLE. That protects us from ending up dealing with a parts graveyard of useless half-working gear, or speding time diagnosing gear for nothing. If you do choose to go ahead with the repair, the deposit will be factored into your final bill.
We absolutely DO NOT.....
buy equipment whether it is working or not
accept donation dropoffs without being pre-arranged
accept or work with CRT or projection TV's
stock LCD screens, there is always a wait for parts
handle software problems with computers (viruses, etc)
accept the large console type stereos **once we are better staffed, we will be making housecalls to repair these**
work on other standard household appliances
In the end, the best practice is to give a ring or an email and describe the issue before bringing it into the shop. Could save us both a headache!

Effort is made to keep this page updated, and descriptions will be added if one is missing. If the picture is off-centered, it is just a picture and will be available immediately in the shop. When it is centered, it will be clickable so that you can get more info. In these cases, it is stored elsewhere due to lack of space in the shop, but itcan be brought in for a demo the next day. If you're looking for a specific type of deck, or need additional information on something you see, please dont hesitate to stop in, or give a call/text/emailand ask.
